Do you publish a newsletter every month?
Yes, we publish a newsletter to match each monthly campaign flyer Longaberger has. Currently 11 a year, as Longaberger does a combined Nov/Dec issue.
What does it cost?
You can order one issue for $15, seven issues for $60, or 12 issues for $100. We accept payment via checks and money order only. Each issue equals one master copy that is sent to you via email or postal mail. You can make as many copies of that master as you need for your customers.
Can I share the newsletter with another consultant?
No...this newsletter is for your use only with your customers and is not to be copied in part or whole for another consultant.
Where do you get the information for the newsletter?
From the company newsletter, campaign notebook, website, and from many other places (for ideas and recipes). Occasionally, some of the wording you'll find is straight out of the notebook -- the company pays someone big bucks to come up with such great, descriptive wording -- why re-invent the wheel?
How many pages is it?
Six pages. See the sample for more info. The pages are not numbered, so you can mix-and-match which pages you want to send to certain customers. There are subscribers that order the newsletter just for the recipe page!
What does it cost to mail?
If you mail the newsletter separately from the flyer, and copy it double-sided, it will cost 42 cents to mail.
I'm having an Open House -- can you add that in?
Sorry... no other personalization is available other than what is on the order form. You can type up a small piece of paper containing your open house information and physically "paste" it over a section of the newsletter you don't want as much before making your copies.
What do I do when I need to renew?
Each issue you receive will show the number of issues remaining in your subscription. You can renew your subscription at any time (even before it's due) by going to the order page.
Outlook Express deleted the newsletter - why?
If you have recently upgraded your computer or Outlook Express (OE), it is possible that you may have to adjust some settings before you can receive the newsletter via email. OE doesn't always recognize the newsletter file as a valid file, and will initially think it's a virus (which it's not). To fix these settings, go to OE, click on Tools...Options...and click the Security tab. UN-check the box that says "Do not allow attachments"...hit Apply and OK and then exit & reopen OE. Your file should be there - if it isn't, just send me an email that you've done those steps in OE and request that I resend your newsletter. This has worked for everyone that had a problem so far.
What happens if I lose my newsletter that you just sent me?
Just contact me at basketnewsletter@aol.com with your full name, email address, and the issue you lost and I will send you a new copy within a week.
I need to change some of my personalization on my newsletter (like my address). Can I do this before my subscription is over?
Yes...just contact me at basketnewsletter@aol.com with your full name and the changes you need to make. If you need a new newsletter sent to you for the current issue, it will be sent within one week.
It's after the date that you sent the current issue to everyone. I'm interested in becoming a new subscriber. Can I still get a newsletter even when you're finished printing?
Absolutely! I always accept new orders. You can order the newsletter up until the very last day of the campaign. It will be sent to you within a week.
When will I receive my newsletter?
I send the newsletters about two-three weeks before the campaign starts, depending on when we receive the new campaign info. If Longaberger is late in mailing the campaign info, then we're late in being able to write the newsletter. If you are placing an order for a current issue, it will be sent within a week of receiving payment.
Do I get anything for referring the newsletter?
Yes. If someone subscribes for at least seven issues and lists you as the referral, you'll automatically get a free issue added to your subscription if you are a current subscriber.
How do you send the newsletter?
Newsletters are sent via either mail OR email (not both). We recommend that you receive it by EMAIL...you'll get it faster, you can email it to your customers...and...it's in COLOR! If sent by mail, they are sent first-class, folded, in a business envelope. They are printed on a high quality digital printer in color. If sent by email, they are sent from my AOL account (basketnewsletter@aol.com) as an Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF file. Make sure you are using the most current version of Adobe Acrobat Reader - available for free at: http://www.adobe.com . One of the "quirks" with PDF files - occasionally it will add a space or shift a graphic where it's not supposed to. Usually, upgrading to the current version of Reader will correct this quirk, but not always. That's the disadvantage to receiving it via email. The advantages are that you receive it first (they're emailed a day or two before the mailed newsletters are ready for the post office)...you can make more copies as you need them straight from your computer...and you can even email the file to your customers. To email it to your customers - you would attach the newsletter file to an email message your write to them.
Can you email the newsletter in Word or Publisher?
No...there are a few people that receive the newsletter via Publisher, but that is not an option for new subscribers. It is not available as a Word document at all.
I am no longer selling Longaberger and need to cancel my subscription. Do you offer refunds or transfers to another consultant?
Sorry, the newsletter is non-refundable and non-transferrable. If in the rare case that the Longaberger Company itself would go out of business...obviously, here at Basket Buddies Newsletter...we'd be out of a job as well. If that happens (I doubt it would...but just in case)...we would NOT be able to issue refunds on your subscription.
Where do you get your recipes?
Either from the Longaberger website or from other web sources. The recipes do not contain any alcohol and will be made using Longaberger products (either Longaberger food or baskets or pottery). If you have a recipe that would be perfect for the next campaign, feel free to email it to me at basketnewsletter@aol.com. Please note: I am unable to give you credit on the newsletter and you will not be paid for submitting a recipe. Also, your recipe may or may not be used.
Do you proofread your newsletter?
Absolutely. I have 3 other people that proofread the newsletter for me as well to make sure that I don't make any mistakes. However...we are HUMAN...which means on occasion, a typo will occur. I need to stress that I do my absolute best to insure that the newsletter is free of mistakes, but even large companies make mistakes. When Longaberger makes a typo in their WishList®...do they send everyone replacement catalogs? No, they don't. (But, boy, I sure wish they did!) If I make a typo on your personalization of your newsletter, however, and it was my fault, I will correct the mistake, send you a new copy of the current issue, and add a free issue to your subscription as an apology. If you made the mistake, then I'll correct my records, but the correction will take place with the next issue.
What happened to the Print & Mail Service you offered before?
It was discontinued. My printer can't handle that many copies anymore, and it's too costly for us to outsource it.
Where's the S&H/Tax Chart Creator?
We no longer have that on our website. Please visit http://www.gatheringbasket.com and use their chart.
